FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can I use it without an internet connection?

Yes. All questions and explanations are built into the app, so you can study offline on the subway, at a cafe, or wherever you are.

Can I study enough with the free version?

Yes. You can solve 40 questions and take 1 mock exam per day for free. If you study consistently every day, the free version is enough. Premium is there if you want a more intensive routine.

What is FSRS spaced repetition?

FSRS, or Free Spaced Repetition Scheduler, is an algorithm that analyzes your memory patterns and automatically selects questions to review right before you are likely to forget them. It is far more efficient than repeating everything at random.

Will I lose my data if I change devices?

Study data is stored on your device. It will not transfer when you change devices, but your premium subscription can be restored through your Apple or Google account.

How is the JLPT administered?

The JLPT is a paper-based test using OMR answer sheets, not a computer-based exam. JPmate provides separate N1-N5 apps with section-based questions and review to help you build a steady pre-exam rhythm.
